ZZ TOP, GEORGE THOROGOOD, BLACK CROWES, LYNYRD SKYNYRD & CREEDENCE
CLEARWATER REVIVAL... what do all these bands have in common?
They're all American, have either long ago split up or play so
rarely that they might as well have but most importantly made
their respective reputations as shit-kicking live acts. Question: What do you do if these are your favourite bands and you miss the exhilaration of their live performances.
Answer: You put your own band together.
Well that's what JOHN DUDLEY ex PARADISE ALLEY & HELLRAIZER Bass Player has done. The goal has been twofold; one, to create a band that can recreate the live atmosphere of those bands at their peak and two, to showcase JOHN'S original material, which surprise, surprise, nods more than once in the direction of the aforementioned acts.
JOHN'S first recruit was his old sparring partner JULIAN (Yee Haw) TURNER BELL (vocalist with a small v and showman with a capital S). JULIAN & JOHN were swiftly joined by Guitar Ace MIKAEL JOHANNESSON and current VICE SQUAD Drummer TONY PIPER.
So what's the Union Jack doing on the poster, I hear you ask?
Well Blighty has produced the odd halfway decent live act itself, so the band also include live showstoppers from the likes of the ROLLING STONES & SLADE as well.
SOUTHERN BY THE GRACE OF GOD may be a bit of a mouthful to remember, so for convenience sake file under PARTY!
