HARLECH CASTLE

A powerful castle, built on a rock near the sea, which was started in 1283 with the walls completed seven years later. The defences were based on four corner round towers and a strong gatehouse. It was damaged in 15th and 17th century seiges but was not slighted, so it is well preserved.

Open.
