ANTENATALS

Your doctors take a special Interest in obstetrics and co-operate with the hospital in providing a full antenatal service. In certain circumstances they will provide full antenatal care and like to deliver the baby themselves.

CHILD IMMUNISATION

The health visitor or one of the practice nurses carries out Child Immunisation. The overall child immunisation rate of the practice is over 95% and the computer helps us to maintain this high level.

FOREIGN TRAVEL IMMUNISATION

Our practice nurses run this clinic and if you are contemplating a foreign trip, contact her for advice about vaccinations.

WELL PERSON SCREENING

This is a clinic aimed at people who have not had a general check up for some time. Please contact the practice nurses for details.

WELL WOMAN CLINIC

The practice cervical smear programme has been running for many years. We closely monitor your cervical smear status on the computer and will contact you if we feel that you are due for a smear.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT

We run all our own paediatric development assessment clinics in conjunction with the health visitor. Please contact her if you think your child needs a check.

FAMILY PLANNING

Your doctors are fully trained in all aspects of family planning. Please enquire at reception if you would like an appointment.

ASTHMA

We monitor all our asthmatics closely and offer a regular asthma clinic to make sure that our asthmatics are on the best possible treatment.

DIABETES

All our diabetics are asked to come to the surgery on a regular basis for a complete appraisal of their condition, including an eye check.

MINOR SURGERY

Your doctor will do certain minor operations in order to ease waiting lists at the hospital.

COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICE

We have a team of three therapists who can help with a wide range of problems including stress management, relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety. Referral can be made via your GP or other health professional.

ECZEMA

This is a new service introduced for the care and support of children up to the age of five years suffering from eczema. Clinics are held on the third Tuesday of every month, an appointment for which can be made via reception.

MENOPAUSE

This is a new service run on the first Wednesday of every month. Its aim is to support women through the menopause by offering advice on the management of symptoms and the use of HRT. Appointments can be made via reception.

EAR NOSE AND THROAT CONSULTATIONS

We have recently set up a new service for this specialty allowing patients to have a full specialist consultation with one of the Doctors without having to go through the Hospital system. Appointments are made via your own Doctor.

OSTEOPOROSIS SCREENING

Another new service, providing full screening facilities including forearm scan for any “at risk” person. Appointments again are via your own doctor.
