Independent
St Mirren Association
Meeting of 30 October 1999

Another worthwhile meeting with attendance from Karin, Donna,
Allan, SenselessThing, St Hector, Jim Cumming(SQ), Everton and Balfy. The meeting
overlapped with the Sizzling Saints (mis)match with Parselona.
Many topics were covered including:
- Where we currently stand
with the ISA Trust Initiative
- What has been carried out
- What needs to be done to move the ISA Trust Initiative forward
These issue are detailed below:
- Letters of support received from MPs regarding Supporters Trust
initiative
- MPs will attend public meeting
The following actions were agreed to be the next steps:
- Formally contact St Mirren Football and request a meeting to
present our plans. A presentation has been circulated to interested parties for review.
- Formally contact all St Mirren supporters groups to raise awareness of our plans and
request support. These groups would include FOSMA, Knox St Supporters Association,
Supporters Buses, SQ, and all Internet Web sites.
- Formally write/contact all "famous" St Mirren fans to raise awareness of
our plans and request support.
- Karin Irvine kindly agreed to be the focal point for all ISA communication
especially in relation to dealings with St Mirren Football Club.
- Contact the Co-op Bank and request more information on starting/setting-up the ISA
Trust. This would allow us to know what assistance is available for setting up Post Office
Box for communications, Bank account for Trust, public meetings, legal fees, etc
It should be noted that since the meeting the following actions have been
carried out:
FOSMA have been contacted, and although unaware of the Government Initiative and the Co-op
Bank "Football Direct" scheme would be interested in finding out more. The next
meeting of FOSMA takes place on the 16th November 1999 at Love St, and representatives of
the ISA initiative have been invited to attend. SMISA hope to get information to a
representative of FOSMA this week about the "Football Direct" package.
It should be mentioned that other supporters in Scotland (Hamilton Accies and Celtic)
received press reports in the latest edition of the Sunday Herald regarding the
"Football Direct" package.
Please publicize this on your sites - and please ask if anyone knows "famous
buds".
Yours,
Balfy.
