Features

Don't bank on all of these being included, or kept in the current prospective format.  Your suggestions will make all the difference in this area!
  • MAIN DATABASES including your details, full listing of every possible UO item, plus of course, the currently available items.

  • SELLER CAN BE ONLINE/OFFLINE at any time.  Useful to turn off when you're busy doing other things.

  • PROMOTE YOUR OWN WEBPAGES.  Sellers that have their own webpage can promote it from with uobuy.  It'd be clearly linked from the sellers information page and also with every item that person places for sale.

  • ACCURATE AND EASY DATA ENTRY due to all Ultima Online items being placed in the database and categorised.  Seller should be able to quickly add or delete stock as and when things are produced/obtained or sold.

  • PRICE STATISTICS.  As all items will be categorised, it'd be easy to calculate current data showing average prices, highs and lows etc. for each different item.  Just as markets fluctuate in the real world, UO prices seem to vary greatly from time to time, place to place.  This would be an invaluable aid to both seller (in order to spot the best things to sell, or have an idea of what prices to charge) and buyer.

  • POWERFUL SEARCH FACILITIES for buyers.  Ability to filter based on various criteria (such as facet, language spoken, online/offline etc.).

  • MADE TO ORDER GOODS.  As it stands uobuy doesn't handle items made to order.  Obviously someone like a GM Carpenter/Tailor isn't going to keep massive stocks of every possible product they can make.  In addition, sometimes a buyer will want an item not often asked for and therefore never stocked.  It may be worthwhile therefore to allow sellers to add items to their 'stock list' with a "made to order" flag.  Customers will realise that the goods may take longer to provide, but it does add more flexibility for someone wanting to buy for instance, four different circle 5 scrolls, six different circle 8 scrolls etc.

  • PROFESSIONAL HIRE.  Following on from the last item, it may therefore be worth allowing sellers to promote their profession rather than particular goods.  i.e. "Sizzlepot, GM Scribe, online and available for special orders".  Again, this one needs some thought and input.

  • FULL CONTACT LISTING with ICQ numbers and email addresses for each seller.  The seller can choose to turn these items on or off for privacy purposes.

  • FEEDBACK SYSTEM allowing both buyers and sellers the ability to leave comments about other users.  Note; this needs some though putting into it.  With auction sites, obviously only the two members of a deal are able to vote for one another.  With no such rigid system in place for an open selling forum like this, it will be easy for any malicious user to place false comments all over the place.  Any ideas please people?

  • SHOPFRONT for each seller.  This is an idea that could be very nice.  Based on the sellers current stock, a webpage is generated showing (with nice pretty icons) the goods available.  Whilst ingame, or via email/icq, the seller could refer any prospective clients to this one page.  Of course, each sellers page would look very similar but for those of you without the skills or time to generate your own, self promoting website, this could be a real bonus.

  • TAILORED START PAGE for each user.  Rather than showing a list of most recently added items, users could define the type of product that they are most interested in and their start-up page would show that kind of product.

  • INFINITE SEARCHING.  Buyers may wish for a certain weapon, piece of armour or rare.  By selecting any such items, users could be emailed the moment anything becomes available in the uobuy databases.  This kind of service, linking goods with the players that want them (even when seller or buyer are offline) could see a very fast turn around for those harder to get pieces.

  • MAMMOTH UO LINKS DATABASE.  This is something I was going to throw together anyway.  There are so many sites worldwide about the game it'd be worthwhile trying to come up with a definitive list.  Webmasters would be encouraged to submit their own

Well, the list of potential ideas could be almost endless.  So please put your thoughts into writing, via the message boards or email me direct at sizzlepot@hotmail.com.  This feature list could be extended greatly based on your ideas.
