As darkness falls
The shadows of evil
Close in upon me
Drawing me into the world
I try to escape
I begin to run
But their sharp claws
Pierce my flesh
And fell me to my knees
In my weakened state
I crawl for shelter
Not knowing where to go
Blinded by the night
And tears of desperation
The faces of all I have slain
Flash inside my mind's eye
Manic laughter deafens me
I press my hands to my ears
And shout for it to stop
But I know I will never find
Any peace for my lost soul
I hear my name over and over
Somewhere in the distance
I try to go towards it
But discover I can't move
Slowly I feel myself sinking
And frantically struggle to break free
Only to slip even further
into the bowels of Tartarus
Suddenly I am engulfed
In a bright golden light
Soft arms wrap around me
Awakening me from my nightmare
I look into my angel's face
And gently stroke her golden hair
Green eyes light up with her smile
Flooding my heart with love
I rest my head against her breast
Listening to a heart
That beats one with mine
Knowing I have found
My sanctuary
