Duncan Ellis

Joined Mellor for the 2006-07 season and proved to be one of the "finds" of the year.. Had not previously played for a couple of years. He broke into the First team at right back and appeared in both the Firsts and Seconds. Good stamina and a tough tackler.

Steve Ewing

Strong running striker who joined Mellor in September 2004. After several sparkling performances up front in the second team he graduated to the first team in December 2004, notching a hat-trick in his second full game against Oldham Albion. Scored one of the goals in Mellor's 2-0 Stockport Senior Cup Final win in May 2005. Nickname: Ste.

Andrew Fernie

A midfield terrier who few opponents can enjoy playing against. Made a breakthrough into the second and first teams at the end of 2002-03 season but prefers playing with his mates in the lower teams. Third Team Players' Player of the Year 2002-03. Chosen as manager Ryan Yates' fourth team Player of the Year in 2003-04. Named Third Team Players' Player of the Year in 2006-07. Fifth Team Player of the Year in 2007-08. Nickname: Fernie or the Fernmeister. DoB 18.2.80

Under 17s winger who has also made many effective appearances for the Fourths in 2006-07 and then established himself as a regular in the side in 2007-08.

Paul Fox

Joined Mellor in August 2006 and scored on his First Team debut as a sub against Beechfield in a 2-1 home defeat. Ex New Mills and Broadheath. A busy striker.

Craig Fairfield

Joined Mellor from Old Stoconians in the summer of 2005. Made his debut for the Second team against South Manchester. Scored on his first team debut as a sub against Newton Heath. Ended 2005-06 season as a regular Second Team centre-back. In that season he also scored for the Firsts, Seconds and Thirds. Second Team Players' Player of the Year in 2006-07. Broke into the First Team in 2007-08 and established himself as a commanding centre-back. Nickname: Fathead. DoB 27.10.84

Craig Frisby

Returned to the club in the summer of 2003 after a number of years away and made an immediate impact on the first team, notably scoring both goals in the side's 2-0 opening game win against Disley. A commanding centre-half but he can also play in midfield. Scored in our 1-3 defeat in the 2004 Stockport Senior Cup Final. Runner-up for Players' Player of the Year 2003-04. Ran the London Marathon in April 2005 cunningly dressed as an athlete. Manager's Player of the Year for the First Team in 2004-05. First Team Players' Player of the Year and leading goalscorer in 2007-08. Nickname: Frizzer. DoB 28.2.71
