Martin Jackson
Cheeky striker, brimming with confidence who is now very much part
of the First Team set up. A goal poacher who can also use his pace to
get away and score his fair share of one-on-one goals. His First Team
highlight was a hat trick against Old Ashtonians in a 5-1 win in February
2006. He has graduated through Third and `Second Team football. Played
as a goalie when younger. Scored a stunning hat-trick for the Seconds
against table toppers Old Trafford in October 2002, then four against
Oldham Albion in January 2003, followed by a hat-trick in a friendly against
the Roaring Winds. Top goalscorer for the Second Team in season 2002-03.
Top scorer for the Thirds in 2003-04 with 26 goals. Also named the Third
team's Players' Player of the Year 2003-04. Scored the vital goal that
won the Division E championship for the Thirds in 2004-05. First Team
leading goalscorer in 2005-06 and also in 2006-07 and First Team Players'
Player of the Year in 2006-07. Nickname: Jacko. DoB 28.2.85

Stephen Jackson
Martin's younger brother, also a forward who is quick and can score
goals. It surely won't be long before he joins Martin in the First Team
squad. Played his junior football for a number of clubs including Hillgate
Boys. Joined Mellor in the summer of 2005 for his first season in open
age. Played mainly for the Fourths but made a scoring debut for the Second
Team in a 2-1 defeat at Bedians in April 2006. Also made his debut for
the First Team against Burnage away in May 2006. Fourth Team top scorer
in 2005-06. Second Team Player of the Year in 2006-07. Nickname: Jacko
or Mini Jacko DoB 30.4.89

Mike Johnson
Excellent clubman, he wasn't fazed when asked to play full-back for
the first team in a crisis, after performing all season in the thirds.
Seems to win the football card every week. Scored a fantastic winning
goal for the second team in a bruising cup tie away at Droylsden in February
2003 when he ran 40 yards to chip the keeper. Will he ever score a better
goal? Will anyone? In 2003-04 he became a rock at the heart of the fourth
team's defence until a nasty gash on his shin ended his season. Bought
a new pair of boots from JJB Sports in March 2005 only to find when he
got home that the box contained two left boots.. A dogged defender as
you will see by clicking his picture. Nickname: Johnson DoB 20.8.82

Luke Jubb
Mellor's baby-faced assassin. Joined Mellor at the start of 2001-2002
season from Romiley where he had been banging in goals for the third team.
He proved equally deadly for our first team, except strangely from the
penalty spot. However, his pace and eye for goal are a constant threat.
Bagged 29 goals in season 2001-2002 and 28 in 2002-2003. Joint leading
first team scorer in 2003-04 with 17 goals. Has the perfect excuse for
being in the Romiley Arms on Friday night. He works there! Nickname: Jubby.
