Joined Mellor in January 2008 and made his debut for the Fourths against
Burnage Metro on 2.2.08, claiming a Man of the Match accolade. Plays in
central midfield or up front. Strong tackler, he also has a powerful shot.

Jack Kelly
Under 17s striker who made his Mellor senior debut for the Fourths
in a 1-2 defeat at Old Chorltonians in November 2006.

John Mead
Central midfielder who joined Mellor in January 2008 and made his
debut for the Fourths away at Old Ashtonians in a 1-2 defeat. Scored twice
in a 3-2 home win on his debut for the Seconds in January 2008. Promoted
to the Firsts and starred in his debut game in a 5-0 win over South Manchester
at Wood Lane.

Dave Kerfoot
Joined Mellor in October 2006 and played in the Second and Fourth
Teams.

Joe Kirkman
Defender who has played for the Thirds, Fourths and Fifths. At the
start of 2007-08 season he became the full time keeper fort the Fifths
after filling in for the second match. Between the sticks Joe has found
his calling. Superb shot stopper and not scared to come off his line and
tackle a man (Presumably because he was once a fullback!) Nickname Joe.

Chris Knott
Once a robust centre-back or midfielder who has also been known to
play in goal, Knotty has re-invented himself in 2006-07 as a striker.
Scored a wonder goal against Old Ashtonians in Brabyns for the Fifths
in September 2006. He took over the running of the third team in
2001-2002 and won the Philip Hambleton Trophy for special efforts
on the club's behalf in May 2002. Famous for his "Not the Mellor
FC Awards" on presentation night. He also fortune tells under the
pseudonym of "The Oracle". Sells cars for a living, in fact
it's said he's Arthur Daley's lovechild. Nickname: Knotty.

Joel Lawton
Neat and tidy player who has appeared regularly in the third and fourth
teams. He's particularly good in the air. Some people have compared him
facially to the Viz character Roger Mellie (the man on the telly). Moved
up to the third team in 2004-05. Nickname: Joel DoB 27.3.87

Martin Lipa
Excellent goalkeeper who arrived from Slovakia and joined the club
early in 2007, playing for the Fifths. Very agile and a brilliant shot
stopper. Left Mellor FC to play for FC United.

Matt Lloyd
Initially the Fifth Team keeper. He has progressed through the teams
and made his First Team debut in a friendly against Glossop in July 2007.
In season 2007-08 he played mostly in the Seconds. An excellent shop-stopper
who is also not afraid to come and catch the ball under pressure.

Jamie Longson
First team defender. Quick, leggy and good in the air. Wears strange
bandanas to training. Maybe he has a part in the Pirates of Penzance.
Chosen as Ryan Giggs' body double in a TV commercial in April 2006. Nickname:

Rob MacInnes
Midfielder who joined Mellor in December 2005 and made his debut for
the Fourth Team in a 1-1 draw at home to Irlam Steel in January 2006.
Played previously at Glossop North End. After scoring, he broke his ankle
in a 4-0 thrashing of Old Ashtonians by the Fifth Team in September 2006.

Declan McManus
Joined in the summer of 2007, playing for the Fifths. The all-rounder.
A joy to play with as he has all the tricks and the ability to play the
key pass. Unlocks defences and is a constant menace to all the opposition.
Great in the air and strong in a tackle. Fifth Team's leading scorer in
2007-08. Nickname Deco.

Dave Moss
Experienced midfielder, ex Grove Utd and Mossley who made his First
Team debut in a 2-1 home win against Newton Heath in August 2006. First
Team Player of the Year in 2007-08 after reverting to defensive duties
and proving a steadying influence.

Paul Marsden
Joined Mellor in the summer of 2005, making his debut in open age
football. DoB 15.8.89

Phil McGreal
Cunning striker who can score goals or set up colleagues. Played mainly
in the second team until a loss of fitness early in the 2002-2003 season.
But he worked hard and won his place back. Work commitments took a toll
and in 2003-04 he played mainly played for the fourths. In 2004-05 he
supported Ryan Yates and his touchline help and dressing room banter was
a big factor in the side's championship win. Nickname: Tupper after comic
character Alf Tupper because of his penchant for eating (burgers or chocolate
bars) just before a game. Notorious dressing room joker. Won the Philip
Hambleton Trophy for execptional work on the club's behalf in 2004-2005.
He took over as Fourth Team manager in September 2005. His uncanny Dale
Winton impression wowed the audience at Mellor's dinner dance in May 2006.
In 2006-07 season he became joint manager of the Thirds with Mark Simms.

Si Meats
Tough tackling, brave, full-back or central defender. Formerly a first
team squad member but work patterns limited his appearances. In 2003-04
and 2004-05 he played - irregularly - for the second team. In 2007 he
clocked up 10 years with Mellor FC and now plays for the Thirds. Players'
Player of the Year for the Thirds in 2007-08. Nickname: Meatsy or Meathead.

Kevin Murray
Joined Mellor in October 2004 and scored on his second team debut,
coming on as a sub against Cheadle Hulme. An ex-Disley player he's a bustling
centre-forward who causes problems for defenders, especially in the air.
Needs to work on holding the ball up better but a potent threat. Joint
leading goalscorer for the Second Team in 2005-06. DoB 9.2.82

Rick Monton
Joined Mellor in 2005-06 originally as part of a group of lads attending
Thursday night training. He later became part of the newly formed Fifth
Team. Fifth Team Players' Player of the Year in 2006-07.

Anthony Mullen
Defender or midfielder with good technique and awareness. Probably
needs to build up his fitness. Plays in the third or fourth team, often
at full back. An excellent musician too. Nickname: Mullen or Buttocks.

Gareth Murphy
Signed for Mellor September 2003, he made his debut at right-back
for the second team in a friendly against Marfoam and impressed by handling
experienced opponents. In the season proper he has become a stalwart of
the third team. So enthusiastic he says he can play anywhere. One for
the future. Named Player of the Year for the third team in 2003-04 and
also picked up a trophy for Goal of the Season. In season 2005-06 he established
himself as the Second Team's first choice right-back. Nickname: Gaz DoB
