West Coast Journey

This is a beautiful day trip to the west coast of Scotland. Our first stop is to view one of Scotland’s finest lochs, Loch Maree. With the mountain, Slioch, at one end and Caledonian Forests at the other end, it is a true gem. Next we arrive in Gairloch, a pretty fishing port sheltered on the Atlantic coast, and enjoy some lunch here.

We then continue along the rugged coastline, where there is an option to visit the renowned Inverewe Gardens. We continue our drive through crofting communities and mountain ranges until we arrive at the Corrieshalloch Gorge, a mile long canyon with a gushing 150 ft waterfall and footbridge for viewing. This is not for the faint-hearted! (this visit depends on the site being open).

Then it’s on to Ullapool, a picturesque fishing town with a bustling atmosphere where you can stroll along the harbour front with an ice-cream and watch today’s catch or visit the interesting museum telling the story about the people of Loch Broom who emigrated to America 200 years ago.
