Highland Glens Journey Why not come out on a special day trip with us to see Scotland’s most scenic glens where we have the chance of spotting wild red deer on the hills.
We set off for Loch Ness and visit the impressive ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores of this mysterious loch. We then drive through Glen Urquhart and head for the hills to famous Glen Affric, a national nature reserve, (this really is a Highland treasure) where we can take a lovely river walk through ancient Caledonian pine forests.
We’ll carry on along the winding single-track roads through Strath Glass and follow the river to Beauly. Here in Beauly we can sample the delicious foods on offer either from the recently converted church to art gallery/coffee shop or in “House of Beauly” which offers good food and a great shopping experience!
We wind up the day by visiting our local whisky distillery, called Glen Ord. Again this is a Highland treasure not to be missed! The whisky tour takes about an hour with some tasting at the end. What a lovely way to end the day back in Inverness!
(probably my favourite day trip from Inverness!)
