Nessie & Nevis Journey

This is a day trip to explore the Great Glen and Glen Nevis by Fort William. We stop off at Loch Ness and Urqhuart Castle before making our way along the great valley to historic Fort Augustus. Here we can go walkabout in this lovely highland village where we can see the famous Caledonian Canal cutting its way through the village.

We carry on through the glen heading for Fort William, where we take a single-track road so that we can get an even better view of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. It is an impressive sight on a clear day!

Next we’ll head into Fort William for a bite to eat and then head into Glen Nevis, made famous by “Braveheart” and “Rob Roy” which were both filmed here. We have time to explore this spectacular glaciated valley, see some waterfalls and just admire the sheer beauty of the area...........no wonder so many films have been made in this idyllic part of Scotland!

On the return journey to Inverness, we can take General Wade’s Old Military Road along the south shore of Loch Ness, where the scenery is wonderful.
