Apologies once again for the recent non-production of the results and Edition but it's been a busy January and the esteemed Editor has his fingers in a number of rather sticky pies at present. And its been a quiet start to the new millennium in terms of the league; Saturdays continually interrupted by Cup football, Manchester United in South America, African Nations Cup etc. It's all happening elsewhere at the moment and we have to sit and be patient until the end of February when after a further weekend of cups and internationals the real run in for the championship begins.

At present it's a jostling for position kind of situation. The Maudlers head to head with The Reapers eyeing each other up much for a rerun of the 97-98 season when a last minute disallowed goal handed the title to Big Mac. The Reapers who have been scintillating this season will want revenge and we could be in for a real Ding-Dong. Again the key may well be how the final set of transfers are used and whether teams can stay free of injuries.

Although the top two have a reasonable lead from the following group a good run of results from any of the chasing three could still land them the title. The Mainstreet Boys have been showing some good form in January and still have plenty of transfers available. Some tactical manoeuvres could move them even closer. They look the most likely team to challenge.

Last years champions continue to slide down the table and look as though they are out of the running. They have not scored a goal in over a month. It looks like The Reapers will maintain their record of being the only team to have achieved back to back championship titles.

This weeks winners Frogs Pajamas will not go trophyless this season as the soon to be published Cup results will reveal. They are currently the form team.
