Let it be a lesson to all budding fantasy football managers - take your eye of the ball for one minute and see your team slip up on every banana skin. Padi Fields had thought his team grown up enough to left alone for a few weeks. Coming back from scouting missions he found his players had let slip badly - in just3 weeks they had gone from top to third. A ruthless set of transfers and a pre-match chat quickly restored The Chopstix back to top dogs - and all is calm again. A quarter of the way into the season and the teams are separating themselves into contenders and also-rans. The top 3 are clearly the main contenders with The Mainstreet Boys trying hard to keep up with the pace. |
The second half of the table is led by Back'N Better with one of the favourites The Pajamas already dangerously adrift from the main pack. Its been a disastrous month so far - their top score being just 18. It will be a bitter disappointment for their manager as the calls for his resignation mount. Could we be seeing the first managerial casualty of the new season? The WFFA committee had to meet this week to discuss a late transfer from The Bottom Table. They claimed to have sold Hartson and bought Phillips on Friday but the notification was only received on Monday. The Committee agreed that the club was out of order but nevertheless sanctioned the transfer as they thought it unlikely to have any bearing on the future outcome of the competition. The Committee would like to remind all managers that transfers must be received by email or fax dated and timed prior to any kick off time that may effect them. |
