The specialist links usually use the term AGRICULTURE when talking about farming.One of the best sites to start is the excellent NFU [National Farmers Union] Education Site. This site is relatively new and very well written.

The NFU Pagethe education pages of this excellent site are entitled "The Farm: A Living Classroom". They include 'Working Farm Studies' a cross-section of ten UK farms. The ten farms provide excellent case-studies for Key Stage 3 [Years 7 - 9] and G.C.S.E. research/homework projects. The information is well written/presented and regularly up-dated.

Food And Agriculture Organisation [FAO]a United Nations site with a huge amount of information on a wide range of farming related topics.


Food & Farming Education Servicea University of Oklahoma site which deals with all the breeds of a wide range of farm animals - a useful site for projects/homeworks with lots of written information plus photos and statistics.


International Rice Research Institute [IRRI]a famous organisation that pioneered the research work which led to the Green Revolutionof the 1960's and 1970's. The organisation is still going strong and now on the WWW. The site literally contains everything you could wish to know about rice and rice growing. An excellent site.
