Description Rhizome: creeping, epigeous, diameter 5 - 7 mm.

Leaves: [solitary ?] to ca. 60 cm; cataphylls green to pale brown, their length successively increasing from 1 cm to about 10 cm; petiole 20 - 30 cm; lamina lanceolate, 30 cm long x 5 - 6 cm wide, uniformly green or sometimes with white spots, base narrow cuneate, mid-vein tender [?], secondary veins very fine, upper surface smooth.

Peduncle: flowers subsessile; flowers solitary.

Perianth [Perigone]: globular, 20 - 30 mm long x 20 - 30 mm diameter; tube widely cupulate, 4 - 5 mm long x 10 mm diameter, lobes 8 (- 10), lineate, connate at their tips and forming a cage around the pistil, outside pale violet with dark purple spots, inside purple.

Stamens: 8, positioned near the base of tube underneath the massive style, filaments 0.5 mm, anthers ovoid, 2.5 mm long.

Pistil: mushroom-shaped; style slender basally (2 - 4 mm diameter) but massively developed at the top into a very thick, dome-shaped stigma 12 - 17 mm in diameter, stigmatic surface smooth, marmorate with dark and pale purple; ovary indistinct.

Fruit: undescribed.

Phenology: flowers November - December.
