Accepted name Aspidistra linearifolia Y. Wan & C. C. Huang. Guihaia, 7(3): 220, fig. 3. (1987).

Description Rhizome: creeping subterete, diameter 1.3 - 2 cm.

Leaves: 2 - 5-tufted to ca. 100 cm; cataphylls undescribed;  petiole 3 - 10 cm; lamina lorate, 60 - 100 cm long x 1.5 - 3.5 cm wide.

Peduncle: 2 - 5.5 cm long with 4 - 5 bracts; flowers solitary.

Perianth [Perigone]: campanulate, blackish purple; tube 0.8 - 1.3 cm long x 1.8 - 2.2 cm diameter, papillose adaxially; lobes (normally) 6, slightly recurved, deltoid-ovate, 1.5 - 1.9 cm long  x 0.8 - 1.0 cm [see notes] wide, 6-keeled adaxially, keels fleshy, papillose, central 4 extending from base of tube to apex of lobes.

Stamens: (normally) 6, inserted at base of perianth tube, subsessile; anthers subreniform, ca. 3 mm.

Pistil: mushroom-shaped; ca. 9 mm long, style columnar, stigma exceeding anthers, purple, peltate, orbicular, ca. 1.4 cm in diameter, comprised of (normally) 3 lobes very shallowly emarginate giving the impression of a 6-sided structure, adaxially 3 grooves with deeply bifurcated tips; ovary inconspicuous.

Fruit: undescribed.

Phenology: flowers March.

References  
Comments In FoC perianth lobes are described as "0.8 - 1.0 mm" wide; this is incorrect.  K-Y Lang's drawing shows the perigone lobes expanded into deltoid tips but these are absent in the drawing and photograph in Li Guangzhao 2004.
