Accepted name Aspidistra urceolata F. T. Wang & K. Y. Lang. Acta Phytotax. Sin., 19(3): 381, fig. 1. (1981). Synonyms Distribution China (Guizhou) Description This species seems poorly known. Rhizome: subterete, diameter ca. 6 mm.
Leaves: 2- or 3-tufted to ca. 40 cm; cataphylls undescribed; petiole 8 - 16 cm, rigid; lamina oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 20 - 25 cm long x 3 - 4 cm wide.
Peduncle: ca. 3 cm long, slender with ca. 3 bracts; flowers solitary.
Perianth [Perigone]: urceolate, with many purple speckles; tube ca. 5 mm long x 5 mm diameter; lobes 6, slightly incurved, deltoid, ca. 1 mm long x 1 mm wide.
Stamens: 6, inserted at base of perianth tube, subsessile; anthers narrowly elliptic, ca. 1 mm.
Pistil: ca. 2 mm; stigma ca. 1.5 mm in diameter, highly convex [conical] at centre, 3-lobed at margin, lobes emarginate at apex; ovary basally enlarged.
Fruit: undescribed.
