Comments This form of Hedychium densiflorum was collected by Edward Needham in Nepal. When he discovered Hedychium densiflorum 'Sorung', Mr Needham wrote that he found it as "a single plant in a group of the more usual type" of Hedychium densiflorum. This plant, EN 562 is an example of the "usual type" of Hedychium densiflorum that can be found across a vast area of the Himalayan foothills. This plant is very similar, for example, to the collection LS&H 17393 made in Bhutan.

Hedychium densiflorum EN 562 is a modest little plant flowering at about 1m with 10 - 15 cm tall spikes of two-tone orange flowers.
