Hedychium spicatum images

This Crûg Farm collection of Hedychium spicatum is from central Sichuan.  It was originally listed by Crûg Farm as Hedychium aff. chrysoleucum but it flowered with me in 2004 as Hedychium spicatum.

This form of Hedychium spicatum has particularly attractive dark green foliage and red stems. The flowers are generally unexceptional but the tips of the anther sacs are sometimes extended into prong-like horns (see first image). This feature is apparently not uncommon in Hedychium spicatum but this is the only clone in which I have seen it.
