| Comments |
Cheesman
writes that "M. banksiana is only a name in the
synoptic key included in Kurz's unfinished article of 1878 [sic] : it can safely be
regarded as a synonym, for it would be just like Kurz to write "banksiana" for
"banksii"". Cheesman had a low opinion of Kurz as a scientific
writer (well, none of us is perfect!) but acknowledged his abilities as a field botanist
and insights into the relationship of the bananas.
See comments under M. banksii and M. acuminata subsp. banksii. |
