Kurz
says that Colla "simply copies" Rumphius and "rechristens this banana Musa
berterii". Champion implies "M. berteri Colla" is a
spelling error for "M. berteroi Colla" and gives M. alphurica
Rumph. as a possible synonym. I have not yet seen Luigi Colla's paper. Not
that it matters much but the name is sometimes spelled "Musa berterii".
According to botanical code, epithets derived from words ending in "er"
should have only a single "i" after them, not two. |
