Comments I do not know the authorship.

One of the subspecies of Musa paradisiaca referred to in the RHS Dictionary (2nd edition, 1956) and applied to forms of the Fe'i bananas.

The Fe'i bananas are a highly distinctive group of bananas derived from members of the Australimusa section with upright inflorescences and coloured (red or purple) plant sap. 

Simmonds & Stover caution that the Fe'i bananas are so poorly understood that the use of Latin binomials is "unwise".
