| Comments |
This is one of several Indonesian banana cultivars given a
spurious species name by Takenosin Nakai. Nakai says of it in his idiosyncratic
English, "a big tall banana, probably an origin of Sumatra, has
the flower-bunch bending down parallel and very near to the stem. Flowrs are
numerous in one hand (sisil by natives) or 25-35. Fruits are long and
slender, arranged very regularly in parallel. This is one of the most productive
banana, so the natives cultivate it nothwithstanding of its flat tase of the fruits". |
