| Comments |
This is the type of Nakai's subgenus Rectispica. After
some words about "Musa troglodytarum L. {Musa uranoscopos
RUMPHIUS and MIQUEL} or Pissang Tuncat Langit"
Nakai comments that "Musa rectispica is other thing
from Musa troglodytarum. However, it is cultivated much more by Ambonese as
they believe its sexual effectiveness. Though RANT distinguished it as Pisang
Tuncat Langit Alifuru from Musa troglodytarum or Pisang Tuncat Langit,
it passes among the natives as Pisang Tuncat Langit (means stick-like banana
directing heavenward, or standing male organ". |
