References Baker 1893 : 213, Mobot Tropicos, Reynolds 1927 : 15, Stover & Simmonds 1987 : 162.
Comments According to Reynolds this is the Red banana (Baracoa, Red Spanish, Red Jamaica) which, following Stover & Simmonds 1987, would put the palnt in the Musa (AAB group).   However, Stover & Simmonds list 'Ramkelat' as a member of the AAA group.

The author Firminger does not appear in Brummitt & Powell or in the Harvard Authors Database.
