The audio demonstration file on this page is a CYCLEPATH piece originally a WAV file of some 56Mb. Huge, in other words! After compression the file size has been reduced to a mere 5Mb, and whilst this new MP3 file is less than 10% of the original, it has maintained most of its integrity and remains in stereo.
However, downloading 5Mb from the Internet is going to take time and money, and a lengthy wait, depending on your system's connection speed. Therefore we give below a selection of audio clips, ranging in length from 10 seconds upwards in increments of 10 seconds to a minute and then the full 5.30 track. Clicking on the smallest of these clips will produce a progress window showing you how long the download will take. The mathematics are then pretty simple: judging your system's performance and selecting the right length of audio clip for your patience is a personal decision all your own!.
All this presupposes that your system is capable of playing audio from the Internet. Briefly, you will need a player of some sort, and there is no reason why you should not use the current leader in the field - RealAudio, as the basic version is free.
Your next step towards hearing original music over the 'net should be downloading RealAudio G2, available free from the RealAudio website: just click on this link - http://www.real.com
