    "The painting represents the "Great Britain" about to anchor. She has turned down harbour into the tide and wind and is virtually stopped. The anchor is at the cathead, ready to be let go. Fort Macquarie, the site now of the Sydney Opera House, is behind the ship's bow and Circular Quay is immediately behind her".
