The Alec Forti Rooms are named after Dr Alexander Donald Forti (28/11/43 - 26/02/10). Dr Forti was a psychiatrist, researcher and family planning doctor.

They are used by a variety of practitioners by appointment only. If you have been given an appointment here you can find directions below:

If you are coming on the M40 from the direction of Oxford, exit at junction 4 and proceed as if you are coming into the centre of High Wycombe. Just past the gyratory system at the top of Marlow Hill, filter right (sign-posted Flackwell Heath) and proceed on this road for about 4 miles until just before the bottom of the hill. There is a turning to the left called Red Lion Way.

If you are coming on the M40 from the direction of London or the M25, exit at junction 3 (you cannot exit here if coming from Oxford direction) and, as you come off the slip road, turn immediately left (almost back on yourself) towards Maidenhead, Bourne End, Wooburn Green (A4094). This will also be the route you follow if you are coming from High Wycombe. Continue straight on at the small roundabout just under the motorway until you come to Wooburn Green (you will see the green on your left).

If you are lucky you may be able to park on your right but otherwise turn right and right again behind the pub car-park into Red Lion Way and follow the directions below.

Driving from Bourne End, Cookham or Maidenhead, or coming down Holtspur Hill from Beaconsfield or Amersham, you will find yourself on The Green and, if there is nowhere to park at the front near Tesco's, you can (go round The Green - note there is a partial one way system - and then) go up the turning beside the Red Lion (towards Flackwell Heath) but then immediately right behind the pub car-park into Red Lion Way.

In Red Lion Way the next car-park on your right belongs to Tesco's but the one after is a free public car park (which is next to Suffolk House). If there is no room there you can park on the roadway itself. If you are disabled or have mobility problems you can drive through the archway to the back of Suffolk House and park right outside our rooms!

If you are coming by train from London you can either go from Marylebone to Beaconsfield from where you can get a taxi, or from Paddington, changing at Maidenhead, to Bourne End. Only go to High Wycombe if you don't want to take the taxi from Beaconsfield as we are some distance from there. If you do this, follow the instructions from Midlands/Oxfordshire below.

If coming from Reading, go to Bourne End, changing at Maidenhead. The bus stop is right outside Bourne End Station (towards Wooburn/High Wycombe). If coming from Maidenhead you can get the bus there. Either way, get off at the Red Lion, Wooburn Green. There is a bus stop on the opposite side of the road for buses coming from High Wycombe.

If coming from the Midlands or Oxfordshire, you can go to High Wycombe and get a bus or taxi from there - ask for buses towards Wooburn/Bourne End and get off opposite the Red Lion.

Suffolk House is on the same side of The Green as the row of shops with Tesco's on and is accessed from the main road via either the passageway between 'Dolce' and 'Perkys Coffee House' or between the Village Bakery and Crendon House. The building is almost opposite the zebra crossing - go down either passageway to the back of the building and we are the middle door - next to 'Tinies'.

Look up and you will see the hanging sign: THE ALEC FORTI ROOMS. There is another sign by the door and below it a line of logos - you may recognise one from your appointment letter. This is also the correct venue for Dawn Clark, the psychotherapist and NeuroAD Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. If the door is not open the receptionist will usually see you through the glass and come and open it for you.
