I trained as a doctor at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, University of London. After 'house jobs' in Kettering, I worked in Reading and Weymouth doing A & E and Orthopaedics before working in Australia as a GP and, later, in New Zealand, doing Medicine and Paediatrics. I then trained as a GP in Ealing, Reading and Basingstoke, before training in psychiatry in Basingstoke, Winchester, Gloucester and Bristol. In 2005 I studied for and was awarded a masters' degree with commendation in mental health law from Northumbria University.

I worked for over 10 years as a consultant in a community mental health team in High Wycombe and then for nearly 7 years in a Community Acute Service (Crisis Team plus Acute Day Hospital) and an Assertive Outreach Team. I then worked in an Immigration Removal Centre doing psychiatry and treating substance misuse and for over 3years as Medical Director of Applehill (rehabiliation) Hospital. I currently work part time for the NHS as a psychiatric liaison consultant with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust in Stoke Mandeville Hospital . As well as my clinical work, I sit on Mental Health Tribunals. My private practice is based in Wooburn Green, near High Wycombe where I work with a group of other mental health professionals including psychiatric nurses and psychologists. I also have a clinic at 999 Medical in Golders Green, London. Additionally I see people remotely from all over the UK.

I have a wide range of interests, from psychosis, through resistant depression and anxiety disorders to adult ADHD. I also run a special clinic for doctors. If you would like an appointment please feel free to ring for an informal chat with the friendly staff at Phoenix or look at the website. There is not usually any significant waiting list. If your GP gives you a referral letter, please send it in advance. For details of my fees or other enquiries, please contact Phoenix via the number or e-mail above.

Fees are payable prior to each consultation unless you have an authorisation number from your insurance company enabling us to invoice them directly. Please note that some insurance policies require an excess to be paid by the patient which we will ask you for directly. All major credit cards, with the exception of American Express, are accepted.
