| In addition to writing occasional articles about
information technology, I have produced a number of paper user manuals and
documentation for various packages. On some of these projects the developer(s)
was available for consultation - in other cases it was a matter of learning
the application from scratch and then getting on with it! The applications
vary widely and they include: |
- A desktop publishing program
- A financial system for the Lloyd's insurance market
- A software development tool
I have also created screens for on-line help systems, most notably on
a very large application developed to automate the marine insurance market,
thereby increasing efficiency and cutting costs by a significant margin.
Equally interesting, but very different, were help screens for an electronic
personal information manager designed to encompass all the people, meetings,
client contacts and events within a business organisation. |
