 I am an alcoholic. This led me to twelve months in prison charged with affray. I never hurt anyone, but I quite easily could have done because I still have no recollection of the offence. Anyway – I write this with a deep sense of humility and heartfelt gratitude to those who can only best be described as ‘saints and angels’. I was released from prison after doing twelve months of a two-year sentence. I am currently on license from prison and on probation for twelve months. I was released from prison with virtually only the clothes I was wearing and no hope and no chance, but with help from T.H.O.M.A.S. I found hope and the chance to make a new start in life. I was also given the chance to make a difference and hopefully in the future I may help others in a similar situation that I was in, or indeed anyone less fortunate than me. I now live in a very nice home and my future is looking good. Please do not misunderstand me, no-one will hand you anything on a plate with silver spoons! You have to want to change your life and you have to do some work for yourself to improve your life, but with the help of T.H.O.M.A.S. you can make your life better than you ever thought possible. They genuinely care and understand (unlike some other organisations). They also know all the ins and outs of filling in the right application forms and who and where to send them and who and where to phone etc. I do not know how much they are paid for working at T.H.O.M.A.S. but I do know that it is not nearly enough. They should be paid with buckets of diamonds and barrels of gold!!!! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Viv, Caroline and John for their help and support;my heartfelt gratitude to Wayne for help and for having the brave heart and courage to put his arm into the deep bucket of ** I was in and pulling me out. I owe all of you my life and I will never forget you. You are all truly saints and angels! God bless your souls. Thank you. |
