Subject: [Dagger] [PORC]Taganath enters the tales Date: Tue, 11 Aug 1998 18:49:41 +0100 From: DAVID HOLFORD To: dagrfall@ods.com Something was wrong. Alarmed he extended his magical senses around him. No, the cave was still as dusty, dry and undisturbed as it had been three centuries ago when he had begun his hibernation. Extending his mind further he detected that the small, smelly and pitiful village that had been established in the area near the cave shortly before his slumber had grown into a large town, the name Vanshire floating through the minds of the simple townspeople. A faint tugging at the edge of his awareness caused him to extended his senses toward the Northeast, towards the Imperial province, towards the wards he had created some four hundred years ago near the Imperial city. The wards reported that the line of Tiber Septim still ruled Tamriel, but that unless action was taken they would be as dust on the wind. So this was the reason for his premature awakening! He was beginning to formulate a plan to safeguard the Emperor's life when he noticed the presence of several minds in the town of Vanshire who were planning to combat this danger to the Empire. He must help them. Wearily he opened his eyes and wiped the centuries of accumulated dust off his clothes he walked falteringly over to the armour rack set in the side of the cave. He briefly examined his ancient crystal armour for damage or wear, but as always it looked as if it had just been forged. Muttering an ancient summoning of magic that would transport the armour from the rack onto his body he stomped over to the place where his ancient claymore, Light Bringer glowed softly and leaned against the wall. As he reached for it he completed his summoning of magic and found himself encased in the crystal armour for the first time in three hundred years. He grasped the handle of his pure white claymore he felt strength and vigour flow from the holy blade and into his battered and weary body, until once again he was his former self. He placed the blade in its sheath strapped to his back and willed himself to teleport to the town of Vanshire, near to the minds he had sensed earlier. Blinking rapidly in the sudden sunlight he walked towards a large in with the sign outside reading "The Angry Porcupine". He pushed open the solid oak door and walked into the inn. "Greetings. I am Taganath, Paladin and Champion of Light. Who here leads the fight to preserve the Empire?"..... This is my first tale so please send me any comments, death threats and flames about it. -- Taganath ICQ 10252822
