Subject: [porc] A change is in the sky.... Date: Sat, 25 Jul 1998 14:43:36 -0800 From: jdavis109@juno.com (JAMES R DAVIS) To: dagrfall@ods.com >However I was glad that we arrived at the Inn at last I had a quick >meal of roast "something" watched with amusement how Jemalas was stuffing himself, very un-Lord like, but since the only thing on my mind was a good hot bath, that smell of >the dead Dragon just didn't wanna leave my nose, I begged the Inn keeper >for the bath and excused my self from the table, telling Zarth not to worry, >after all, I was only going to have a bath, wasn't I ? Seeing Mea excuse herself, I pushed the platter away, realizing what a pig I had made of myself. I had to get some air. I strode to the door, exited and moved to a small hill in the center of town, some fifty feet from the front door of the tavern. I lay there, staring up at the cloudy sky. I closed my eyes as a cool, refreshing breeze sweeped through town. The same breeze parted the clouds above me, allowing the moon to shine through. The full moon. I felt the change almost immediately. I felt as though I were going to explode as silver scales slid out of my skin. I expanded, ripping through and destroying my clothing and armor. "Ahhhhha ha ha ha" I said as my scream of pain turned into a laughing roar of triumph. I closed my eyes, now the size of tower shields, and felt the anger flowing through me. Anger at the Soverian gods. Anger at the dragon who had wounded my shoulder. Above all was the need to exact revenge. A brief glimmer of sanity flashed through the madness as people poured out of the tavern. Catris underwent a similiar change, though she turned into more of a hatchling than an adult. The change reflects how innocent one is and the color of the dragon corresponds with the closest mind set. I turned, about to breath on them, the air in my lungs cooling to arctic temperatures. Unable to control it once it formed, I arched up and sprayed my attack into the heavens, which then came down as a gentle snow. I bent my neck down and smashed through the window of Mea's room, saying as gently as possible "Cast a pacify animal on me. The dragon raging through me is hard to control." Mea screamed, wrapped a towel about herself, and said a few words. Her hands lit up with a nimbus of blue energy and light. She touched my snout gently and the rage within my mind cleared, leaving only my thoughts. No hatred, no seething anger. I was so at peace that I rested my head on the floor of the room, till Mea kicked me in the snout and I woke up. I pulled my head back and looked down at the people. Children were coming out now, playing in the snow, a rarity in the middle of summer. People casted light spells and had a merry time. Catris was a bit leery of this, but I was confident. I crouched and jumped, winging off into the night sky. The air flowing past me was exhilirating. I was a bit of a novice at flying, but I was doing good. Gargoyles and giant bats moved away at my passing. I was over the town square, flying straight up. Then the sun rose. I found that my temporary lycanthropy is directly connected to the moon's rays. As soon as they were gone, so was the dragon. My body shifted back to Sidhe form, this time painlessly. The only problem is that I was some two thousand feet off the ground. What a site I must have made. A naked high sidhe, falling like a rock in the dawn light. I tried to activate one of those sciences I learned from the guild, but my mind was frantic, moving much too fast to enter the trance-like state required. I changed to a spread-eagle pose, hoping to slow my fall. My weight defeated that tactic. As I grew closer to the ground, I saw Mea and Zarth, holding hands, lit up by the glow of culminating magicka. They pointed at me and suddenly my fall slowed. I felt as if a giant hand slammed me upwards then caught me. I floated slowly to the ground. As soon as my feet touched the earth, the spell expired and I fell to the ground, exhausted. I clawed my way feebly to Catris, who was in a similiar state. I felt a cloak draped over me and gentle hands carry me into the inn. I felt Catris' warm body next to mine, but it barely registered as I fell into a deep sleep............. ~Lord Jemalas Tamislane of Thornwood, Ruler of Kalisis JDavis109@juno.com _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
