It was only a few hours to nightfall, so I made my way to the bar and commenced to make a pig of myself again, as the change left me ravenous. Catris picked at her food, as she was not hungry. Changing into a hatchling is less strenuous and stripping on the system. While I ate, Mea lectured me on the force of gravity and told me that we were just hours from her ship. Her normally quiet, calm voice was rather strained and loud, as she had to get over my chomping and slurping. Finally sated, I pushed the platter away and said "Let's wait a few hours more to leave. At nightfall, I will turn into the dragon again, and we can cover four hours of travel in minutes." Mea and Zarth reluctantly agreed, while Catris knew I would have to carry her, and Adeline was ecstatic about being able to experience flight again. (When we came to Tamriel, she lost her powers of vampiric flight.) Packing everything up, we stopped on the road just outside of that town. I dropped my pack, removed Catris' and pulled her by the wrist away from the others. I stripped off my robe and she disrobed as well. The sky was clear and as the moon peaked above the horizon, the change hit us. Catris was still a small hatchling in dragon form, but I was a grand silver wyrm. Her change was slower than my own, and as she struggled in pain, I tore at the ground with my great claws. Finally she stood up and gathered our discarded clothing in her claws, far more dexterious than my own. I lowered one wing and everyone climbed on my back. Catris moved into my right claw, as she was smaller than the palm of my hand then. I felt a series of leather straps wrap around my chest and the scales on my back. My companions were lashing themselves to me. Once they were prepared, I crouched down, the muscles in my legs wadding into tight balls, then leapt into the night sky, headed for Mea's ship, anchored in the Iliac Bay. ~Lord Jemalas Tamislane of Thornwood, Ruler of Kalisis JDavis109@juno.com _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
