Why would Princess Morgiah summon me? The only reason I had ever been summoned by royalty on this world was the time I dropped a few fruit pastries off a mages' guild..... but I say too much. The elegant writing burned into my mind like a geas. Why would she summon me? The question played over and over in my head. I got up to change the bandage on my leg. Leaning heavily on a cane Mea had leant me, I wondered about wandered about the ship, looking for my friends. I peaked into Zarth's room, but left him to his reading. My wife and cousin were no where to be found. Mea was gone as well. Standing on deck, a storm blew up from nowhere. My eyes stung as the wind whipped them. The lashes of air were surprisingly cold for the climate we were in. The thin cloth of my garments did little to stop the icy blasts that felt as though they were slashing through my clothing and deep into me. Something was unnatural here. Although the Sidhe are creatures of magic, we can still tell when something is tampering with nature. Lightning arced out of the clouds and hit the mast of Mea's ship, but the enchantments she had placed on it protected the mahogany from damage. As I shrunk back from the lightning strike, I felt another presence on the deck. I leveled my gaze at the dark mist that was rapidly coallescing into a humanoid shape. I drew Scorcher and Ghalleva, expecting an attack. A nightblade stepped out of the mist. The nightblade looked up at me and opened its cloak. I saw then that the form was that of a human woman, probably a Breton. A sword appeared in her hand, a shaft of utter darkness. "Now I shall release your Sidhe blood for the Seekers of Life Eternal." the woman said. I rushed forward, but she defeated me with a single gesture. She flicked her hand and a magic force slammed into me, pushing me backwards against the wall. Her eyes flickered with the color of lightning and I saw the bolts about to shoot out of her eyes when I heard riders. My companions were returning. Catris and Mea came up the gang-plank side-by-side, leveling gaze with my assailant.
