As I lay cradling my love's head in my arms, wiping her forehead with a
wad of wet cloth, I grew exhausted.  My eyes grew heavy and the last
thing I remember that night was Mea spreading a blanket over Catris and
I.

The next day, Zarth noticed a small piece of metal sticking up out of the
earth.  Curious, we used our weapons to dig out the metal.  I shoved
Scorcher into the packed clay of the path and twisted. The entire area
around us caved in, opening a hole onto a huge subterranean room.  As
light flooded in and our eyes adjusted to the gloom, we could see the
artifacts.  All made of the golden dwarven metals, these items were
skillfully made and lovingly embellished with scrollwork.  I wondered
around, awe-struck.  I bumped into one table and set a suit of dwarven
plate clattering to the floor.

Something growled and moved in the darkness.  A pair of sapphire blue
eyes, each as big as my head, opened and looked at us.  "Uh-ho.........."
was all I could say.......................
