ANGELS

 

Angels in the Life of Jesus

An angel announced the birth of Jesus and His Name (Luke 1:11-17)

An angel foretold to Mary the birth of Jesus (Luke 1:26-37)

An angel foretold to Joseph the birth of Jesus and His Name (Matthew 1:20-21)

Angels announced to shepherds the birth of Jesus and sang His praises (Luke 2:8-15)

An angel directed the child Jesus' flight into Egypt (Matthew 2:13 and 20)

An angel ministered to Jesus at His temptation in the wilderness (Matthew 4:11)

An angel came to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:43)

An angel rolled away the stone at the tomb of Jesus (Matthew 28:2)

An angel announced to the women His resurrection (Matthew 28:5-7)

Two angels were in the empty tomb when Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene (John 20:11-14)


Jesus Said a Great Deal About Angels

Angels ascending and descending upon Himself (John 1:51)

He could have had twelve legions of angels to deliver Him (Matthew 26:53)

Angels will return with Him at His Second Coming (Matthew 25:31; 16:27)

Angels will be reapers who will gather the elect (Matthew 13:39; 24:31)

Angels will separate the wicked from the righteous (Matthew 13:41,49)

Angels carried the beggar to Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:22)

Angels rejoice over the repentance of sinners (Luke 15:10)

Angels minister to little children (Matthew 18:10)

Jesus will confess His People before angels (Luke 12:8)

Angels cannot die and do not marry (Luke 20:35-36)

Satan has evil fallen angels (Matthew 25:41)


Angels in the Book of Acts

An angel opened the prison doors for the Apostles (Acts 5:19)

An angel directed Philip to the Ethiopian (Acts 8:26)

An angel released Peter from prison (Acts 12:7-9)

An angel struck King Herod dead (Acts 12:23.  See also v15)

An angel directed Cornelius to send for Peter (Acts 10:3)

An angel stood by Paul during a storm (Acts 27:23)


Angels in the Epistles and in the Revelation

There are Elect angels (1 Timothy 5:21)

Angels are innumerable (Hebrews 12:22;  Revelation 5:11)

Angels minister to the heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:13-14)

Angels will come with Jesus in flaming fire (2 Thessalonians 1:7)

We must not worship angels (Colossians 2:18;  Revelation 22:8-9)
