I am "over 21" years old, married with three children - 2 boys one girl. I am a Technology Lecturer at a Further Education College in West Lancashire, England.
The term, 'Technology Lecturer' is a loose job description which involves the teaching of Electronics, Mathematics, Computer Skills, Programming and various Engineering based subjects.
I have worked in my current position for five years now, having previously been involved in a varied cross section of jobs in the past 20 years. I have been mostly self-employed and have worked in the motor trade, a hospital, in house building, and in heavy plant and machinery, including excavator driving.
I have been teaching Visual Basic, levels 1 and 2 now for three years and am currently working on City & Guilds Level 3. I am interested in VB links with MSAccess and SQL and I have written several applications in this field. C and C++ are also on my agenda. It's just a question of finding time to fit everything in.
I also teach the AutoCAD suite of programs, up to and including 3D, AEC Built Environment, Customisation and AutoLisp programming. I would like contacts with others doing the same.
As far as the Internet is concerned, I am mainly interested in the programming side. I am currently studying JavaScript and, to a lesser degree, Java. I have been interested most aspects of programming for some time. I would be keen to hear from anyone who has any interesting bits of code in VB or JavaScript that they would like to share. I am also quite interested in 'animated gifs' or animation of any kind for use on the Net. Have you any to donate or to swap?
Other hobbies and interests include:
I have always harboured three main ambitions:
So far I have achieved the first two. If you have any information about hot-air balloon trips (not expensive) in the local area - West Lancashire - please let me know by e-mail.
I am always on the look-out for new work, especially in the fields of programming or web publishing; e-mail me if you have any offers.
