Many may be unfamiliar with Macedonia wines, but the country has a long history stretching back to Roman times. A large investment has meant Stobi is now at the forefront of modern Macedonian wine production. Based in Tikveš, they have a terroir similar to that of Tuscany or Bordeaux and suitable for both reds and whites.
The Wines
Stobi Cuvée Blanc
This captivating blend of renowned local grapes R`kaciteli, Zupljanka, Žilavka with a dash of Chardonnay produces appealing aromas of white peach and citrus fruits with delightful notes of fruit salad and lemon zest. A wine that is dry, light bodied with a refreshingly crisp finish.
Serve with salads, pasta dishes or grilled chicken.

Zhilavka
Greenish color, crystal reflection. Complex tone. Accentuated herbal aroma of resin. Long, soft, gentle taste. High-quality wine created for fish, seafood, prosciutto, asparagus salad, peas.
Muscat Ottonel
Pale greenish color, musk aroma of elder, basil, apricot, peach. Balanced long-lasting, sophisticated, delicate glycerol-sweet taste.
It is ideally served at 8-10°C as an aperitif with white meat, old cheese, seafood, and at the end of the meal with dessert.
Vranec
Dark ruby color, with accentuated aroma of grapes which later is intertwined with discreet aroma of cherry and sour cherry. Robust, full, concentrated, rich with soft and pleasant tannins.
It is best served at 15-17°C with roast pork, veal, venison, home-made pies and strong aromatic cheeses.
Vranec Veritas
Veritas is premium wine obtained from the local cultivar Vranec. It is produced with reduced yield of the vines. The removal of entire clusters leads to a significant concentration of the taste of the grapes which remains for harvest. It is rich with polyphenols (antioxidants), colored substances and specific aromatic compounds. Dark-ruby, strong color, corpulent, full bodied wine rich in extract. Wine with great potential for aging.
It is ideally served at 15-17°C with roast pork, prosciutto, venison, fatty cheese, lamb and veal.
Syrah Barrique
Aroma: fresh, emphasized, with tones of berries and gentle vanilla.
Taste: full, creamy and elegant with gentle tannins.
Enjoy at temperature of 15-17°C with beef, pork, venison, old cheese.
Lively, deep and emphasized ruby colour with high glycerol content. Suitable for aging.
Petit Verdot Barrique
The Stobi Petit Verdot Barrique has an intense purple colour with aromas of spicy black cherry and a hint of vanilla. A wine that is dry, full bodied, with silky elegant tannins and a long finish.
This high quality wine is best served at 15-17°C. An excellent match to most red meats and especially sirloin steak,casseroles and game dishes. Also goes well with blue cheeses and grilled Mediterranean vegetables. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
