EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
-
- AS400 Technical Projects June 2001 - December 2001
Augmenting the IT computer department I was given a number of projects the AS400 manager did not have time to complete. Projects included: System cleanup with the view to reduce the percent of disk used. As part of this project I introduced automated archiving for the Thenon change control software (which alone saved 8 gigabytes of disk space). Another project was to test and correct some 700 jobs on an in-house application called the System Monitor, making sure all system jobs were correctly monitored and that the restart parameters, in the event of a failure, worked correctly. Other projects of note: Set-up OptiConnect between the AS400 partitions. Wrote a Time logging program allowing managers to keep track of the time their home workers spent signed-on to the AS400.
HARDWARE Base: AS400 740 12-way processor, 700 Gig, Partitioned and mirrored to a 730. Webserver was 820 iSeries. Software level: R4V5M0 (Data Mirror and OMS/ODS used for mirroring)
-
- AS400 Technical Support February 2001 - April 2001.
During the merger of Invesco and Perpetual I provided support for the testing and intergration AS400 . In addition I was a consultant for the migration project from an SNA to TCP/IP network covering topics such as: Telnet, IP printing (IPDS/SCS), Host Tables, Host Servers, DNS, Virtual IP addressing, FTP, ANYNET, Blue Server, Setting appropriate AS400 IP attributes, security implications. I implemented my MIS reporting system as introduced at other AS400 sites, providing AS400 information statistics such as DASD utilization and interactive performance trends. I also aided and trained the other 5 members of the Technical support team during the day-to-day running. HARDWARE Base: iSeries 830
Testing AS400: 2400/1534, 1.7 Terabytes DASD, 2 Gig Main Storage.
Production AS400: 2400/1534, 750 Gig DASD, 3 Gig Main Storage.
and 6 Other Minor AS400's.
