FP continue work on new albums

APRIL-09-2006

Fawcett/Poustie International and Bally Rotter Records today broke almost 8 months of silence from the FP camp to reassure fans that the band has not dissapeared off the face of the earth, and is indeed still working hard on both a new studio album as well as the long promised album of re-recorded classics.

A Bally Rotter Records spokesperson confirmed that the latest expectation is that the band will hit the studio in the Summer of 2006 to work on the follow up to 2004's Heading For The Bright Lights. The band has apparently already started work on the album and prospective song titles include the following....

dandies

Three times - Mid-tempo happy-go-lucky balladster
She Gets Around - Sleaze rocker
Republic Of Love - Commercial rocker
White Hot Rocks - Heavy riffy rocker
Dust - Dirty funkster
First Rock'n'Roll Star - Caberet commercialster
Ocean Reef - beach ballad with brass
Gimme Some Sunshine - Funky pop-rocker
Disco Party on the Beach - disco fonkster

It is likely that the Coach House may provide the HQ for the recording sessions but this is yet to be confirmed. As usual, sax legend Richard "Harv" Flood is expected to join the recordings. The band is hoping to record the album in July with an eye on an August release.

Meanwhile the album of re-recorded classics that the band has been working on since July 2005 now has the tentative title of "Deluxe" and the release is now likely to be postponed until after the release of the new studio album. Tracks already worked on include If I Was a Poet, Colorado Pips, Love For All Seasons, The Nurse Said..., Fairway Revolution, Going on Holiday, Red Sky Tonight, This is It and Whatever Happened To K ?  More news when we have it.
