Fawcett/Poustie
are now just a couple of weeks away from entering the studio to complete
work on their as yet-untitled 12th studio album.
Poustie will fly
to England on Thursday 15th July and will meet up with Fawcett on the
weekend of 24th-25th of July at the legendary Coach House studios in
Cheshire where the band is once again working with legendary saxman,
Richard "Harvey" Flood.
This will be the
third FP album in a row that the veteran jazz player will have contributed
to, having first played on Syncopated Man (The Richie Flood Story)
from the Here on Business album in 2000, as well as on Time To
Start Again, Just a Little Bit and This is It from the album of
the same name in 2003.
Fawcettpoustie.com
has been tirelessly trying to contact Flood for confirmation of his
participation, but sadly the elusive Flood has so far declined our
requests for interviews.
As earlier
rumoured on FP.com it has now been officially announced by
Bally Rotter Records,
that the new album will indeed feature 12 new tracks and not 10 as
previously understood.
The two final tracks to enter the picture are a
Fawcett quasi-epic Return To Mars and a cover version of Cheap
Trick's 1985 song Standing on The Edge. |

It is also believed that the band may yet release a Christmas song in
December, although not an EP as earlier suggested.
FP enter Fawcett's Cooper's Court studio at the end of July and the
12-song album will be released on Bally Rotter Records mid-August. |
