rumour mill in full flow |

June 26th, 2004 With just over a month to go before F/P hit the studio proper to work on their as-yet untitled 12th studio album, rumours are emerging that the band is planning to work on more than just the 10-songs that were previously revealed. Although official F/P sources are still adamant that the album is only going to contain 10 new songs there are rumours that the band is contemplating recording another couple of songs that could either be used as bonus tracks, B-sides, or available as downloads only. There is also a rumour doing the rounds that the band may be also preparing material for a Christmas EP, following a similar format to the classic 1991 release "Stocking Filler". Sources close to Nick suggest that he has written a couple of extra tracks in addition to the 5 planned for inclusion on the album, while sources close to Chris have confirmed that he has recorded parts for a cover version which he hopes to have F/P release. If this does transpire it would be the first official F/P cover version, excluding a couple of Fawcett demos on Diamonds, that has been released since the cover of Whitesnake's "We Wish You Well" on the 1990 Live in Nortwich recording. |
At this point in time it is difficult to distinguish the fact from the fiction and the only official word from the band remains that the album will only contain 10 tracks. It is however intriguing that various sources from both the Fawcett and Poustie camps have confirmed that the band is contemplating other ideas. Watch this space ! |
