May 10, 2005 Fawcett/Poustie have returned from their band vacations to the Thai islands of Ko Chang and Ko Samet and have arrived at their respective studios to prepare for a recording session at the end of May. Nick and Harv Flood have already returned to Blighty, having spent the last couple of months together journeying around Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia as well as the band vacations with Chris in Thailand. Nick’s return marks the end of an 8-month trek around the world following the release of Heading For The Bright Lights. Chris remains in Studio-P in Bangkok and will be flying into England on 21st May. |

The latest word from the FP camp is that studio time at the legendary Coach House has been penciled in for the end of May, with the intention of recording a couple of new songs for release as a single or EP. According to our sources, work on the much anticipated “instrumental” album is not expected to commence during these sessions. It is understood that Richard “Harv” Flood, the band’s one-man brass section, will be performing on the new songs. The only prospective song title so far is Poustie’s “Disco Party on the Beach”. |
It is expected that Fawcett will also bring a song to the session and also a co-penned song is set to be written at the Coach House. The likely release date of the single/EP would be mid-to-late June. The latest rumours are that the “instrumental” or “classical” themed album, mooted earlier in the year, will still go ahead, and could potentially incorporate the songs recorded in the May session. It is also rumoured that the instrumental album may have a “beach” concept. Several photo sessions of the band took place during March and May on the islands of Chang and Samet, and although most of the resulting pics will be kept under wraps until being used on future releases, FP.com is able to provide these exclusive shots ! |
