Fawcett / Poustie have at last announced the release date of their much anticipated 11th studio album, this is it ! September 22nd, 2003 is the date that the new opus is released, following recording sessions in March and August 2003. Since the band completed recording in late August, Nick Fawcett has been working on post-production work, including a final guitar solo as well as finishing off the final mix and mastering. The album was recorded in 3 sessions, beginning with the song Hippy, which was recorded in August 2002 at both the Coach House and Cooper's Court studios, a session at Cooper's Court in March 2003 and a session at the Coach House in August 2003. The album has a modern, funky, production and boasts songs that mix the typical F/P sound with heavy doses of funk, a sprinkling of jazz, acid-jazz, acoustic country blues, pop and of course plenty of rock'n'roll. Long time aficionado of the band, veteran saxophonist Richie "Harvey" Flood guests on 3 songs. Mr. Flood first appeared on his autobiographical tribute, Syncopated Man, on 2000's Here on Business. Flood's friendship with the band dates back 20 years and was for several years a member of the notorious jazz band Saighton Syncapators alongside Poustie on the drums ! The first single off the album, Love Bullet, was released in June and is set to be followed by the release of the second single, Fawcett's Time To Start Again on Friday, 19th September. "this is it" is the band's first studio album since 2000's Here on Business and only second album to be recorded digitally. For complete track listing click HERE !
