Demoiselles Coiffées

In the shadow of Mt. Ventoux, near Provence's border with the Drome region of France, is the small town of Bedoin. Just outside the town are these bizarre rock formations caused by the weather eroding the soft underlying rock leaving the harder rocks on top to form "young ladies with nice hats or fancy hair styles". Obviously who-ever named them didn't know many young ladies or more likely had been road-testing the local wine.
