1. Season Gripes

• What is an 8-Ball Clearance. How do you do one? Are People claiming them without doing one. Both Team Captains have to Sanction that any have been done in the Match, 8-Ball Clearances is only a Single thing so does not count in Doubles

• An 8-ball clearance is when all 7 object balls / + black ball are potted from the break with one visit to the table, or the next visit after the break by the opposing player. Both Teams to sanction that one has been achieved by ringing it in on the night as confirmation. An 8-ball clearance only counts in singles NOT doubles.

• Result cards not being filled in Properly or not receiving them that week. I would like player’s names to be filled in with First Name (or Initial) followed by Surname. This enables me to keep track of how many Win’s a player has had. If not filled in properly then I have to guess who actually won the game so leads to inaccurate results for some players. Most problems occur when there are two players in the team with same name. Any cards not received will lead to a 1 point fine

• 1 Point fine for any card not received within 7 day’s.

• Team Registration forms are still being left till last possible minute or even past the deadline date. This causes delay to new season. However teams are being fined for late forms.

• Team registration forms are still being sent in Late. The Teams involved have been fined £5 but it still causes delay to start the next league season. Please could all teams in future get their form submitted before the deadline date.

• Some teams are not turning up for fixtures or last few games of season causing in-balance to the Division tables. It also causes bad feeling especially if the team has not been notified and they have prepared food. It wouldn’t hurt for the team captain to notify the other team captain if they are not going to turn up. I propose that a team should be fined three points for not turning up.

• It was decided that the team that does not turn up for a match will be fined £10 and have 3 points deducted. The opposing team will be awarded a 4-3 win only. If the team does not pay the fine then their player’s will not be able to play for another team until they do (£2 per player)

• Bad Sportsmanship. Bad referee calls causing unnecessary re-rack’s and Bad feeling within teams. Player’s barracking. People complaining about slow games. Teams turning up late and still expecting practise games. All referees should call when a player has two shots so he knows where he stands. Surely this is not two much to ask.

• Good Sportsmanship would be appreciated from all team player’s. The referee should offer a re-rack to both players to resolve any dispute. If both players do not agree to a re-rack then the referee’s decision is final. All referees to call when a player has two visits so as not to cause unnecessary confusion.

• Committee: The Committee is not working. It is being called for petty disputes. The BRJ Team’s used it twice since last AGM. One for point deduction and because they could not arrange a re-arranged fixture. The committee should be used for more severe problems

• It was agreed that Reg Bartlett, Ivor Haverley & Myself will be on the committee with 3 other team captains picked at random.

• Some teams are having trouble re-arranging fixtures. Reg Bartlett has kindly nominated himself to look after this for me. I propose that Reg Bartlett should be notified of any cancelled games and when they are to be played. They must be played within 4 weeks or either before end of 1^st Half or before last games in the second half.

• Reg Bartlett is to be notified of any cancelled games and when they are to be re-arranged within the time frame set out above.

1. New Proposals / Issues for forthcoming Season

Q.1 Introduce the New Pool Rules that were brought in January 1998 from Summer League 2001. We have six Month’s to learn the New Rules. I could probably get someone to arrange a demonstration of the new rules nearer the time if they wish

• • The Aim is to play the New World Pool Rules in Summer League 2001 onwards. A Set of Rules will be delivered to each team for them to read and learn by next summer. A Meeting will be held before the next league to discuss new rules and maybe demonstration by a Former County Player if possible.

Q.2 If a team has only 4 players then I propose that one of the players may play again to fill the missing leg. The Player to play again can either be drawn or has to be a player that has lost. This could prevent matches being cancelled at short notices

• • This Proposal was rejected by all parties

Q.3. The Three Tuns ‘A’ would like to drop out for 1 season and then come back the next season. I propose that teams should be allowed to drop out for 1 season without losing their table position. Any More then that then they lose their position.

• • If a team drops out for 1 season then they come back in the bottom division. It does not matter who they are or how good they are

• All AGM Meeting’s in future will start at 20:00 at selected venue

• All Agreed.

• Singles and Doubles will be played over three Venues due to their only being 1 venue in the league with two pool tables. Reg Bartlett , Ivor Haverley & Myself.

• Lord Protector will be 1 Venue with the other two chosen by Reg , Ivor and myself.

• I would like to Include Bank Holiday’s in Fixture List’s.

• All Parties also rejected this proposal.

• A Proposal was made by a team representative to re-instate the Captains Game cup in all Divisions to be played after the match has completed.

• It was agreed to play a captain’s game after all other games have finished. However if it is getting late and there is no time to play it then it must be played on the reverse match or when time prevails. If game does not get played then both captains will be awarded half a point. 1 Point will be awarded to the winning captain.

1. Way Forward

• It would be good if I could Fax /email everyone the new Fixture lists and results rather then Posting or Travelling. Does everyone have a Fax / Email Number I could have for this purpose

• A Web page has been set-up by me for the Stanjay Sports League. The URL is www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~fxmuldar/sshpool.htm . I update the Division tables on it every Monday Night / Tuesday Morning for teams to see where they stand. Any Idea’s on what you want on it then let me Know.
