The opposing team will be given 15 minutes practise time before the match commences.
The Postponement of matches is permitted providing that both team captains agree and that in any event Reg Bartlett and opposing team have been given 48 hours notice of any postponement of fixtures. Inclement weather and road traffic accidents are the only permitted exceptions to this rule. Postponed matched must be played within 4 weeks or either before end of 1st Half or before last games in the second half. The team Captain who cancelled the game shall be responsible for re-arranging the game to be convenient with the other team captain. Reg Bartlett is to be notified of any agreed dates for the re-arranged fixture. In the event of Reg Bartlett not being informed of any agreed dates, then he will re-arrange the postponed fixture as a matter of course within the specified time frame. If the re-arranged fixture does not take place then both teams will be awarded 0 Points. In the event of Reg Bartlett being unavailable then the League Secretary may be contacted instead.
The winning team is responsible for telephoning the result into the league secretary before Midnight on match days. Failure to comply with this rule will result in the loss of 1 bonus point. The Winning team is also responsible for submitting the result card and ensuring that the Results Secretary receives the result card by the Tuesday of each week. Failure to comply with this rule will result in the loss of 1 point. The URL for the Stanjay Sports Web site is www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~fxmuldar/sshpool.htm . I update the Division tables on it every Monday Night / Tuesday Morning for teams to see where they stand.
All Result cards will be entered into a Computer database to determine the Least Defeated Player award. Any Cards not received will be omitted from the database so therefore affect the outcome. Least defeated player will be determined on league games only. If at end of season there are two players Drawn then there will be a best of three to determine the Winner.
Alternatively the result can be emailed via the Internet to
When playing doubles, Players must not confer once the break has commenced. A Break commences when the players touch the table and finishes when the players have played their last shot
The Games shall be refereed by alternate Teams, i.e. the Home Team will referee the first frame and the away team the second, and so on
Any 8-ball clearances made in Singles only must be put on back of result card and phoned in, as this will earn the Player a medal on Presentation Night. Confirmation of an 8-ball clearance must be made by opposing player / Team Captain by phoning in / Signing card by players name. Only 1 medal will be awarded to the player regardless of how many 8-ball Clearances completed in the league. An 8-ball clearance is when all 7 object balls / + black ball are potted from the break with one visit to the table, or the next visit after the break by the opposing player.
Only 7 trophies will be presented to each Winning / runner up team on Presentation Night. This is Negotiable in Certain Circumstances but may require additional funds if more trophies are needed.
The referee’s decision is final. If the referee feels that no progress is being made in a game then he may call a re-rack without consulting either player at any time. A referee must keep the player informed when he has two Visits by calling them out each shot. (E.g. Calling 1st visit ……2nd Visit…….End of Visit.)
Any new player(s) signed on after the first half of any season will have to pay a One pound registration fee to the League Secretary. Failure to comply will result in the deducting of any point(s) won by the new player(s).
Team Registration Forms submitted after the deadline date will incur a five pounds fine.
If two teams are totally equal at the end of season then the winner will be decided on whom won the most legs when they played each other. If that is equal as well then a play-off at a neutral venue is the only way to decide.
If a team wants to drop out for 1 season then they will have to come back in the bottom division,
If a team leaves a Venue and goes to another Venue then they must start in the bottom division. This means that the Venue they left can submit a brand new team and keep their place in the division they were in. Teams if they wish do not have to be named after the Venue they play for. This means you can move venue without losing your table status.
Any Complaints or grievances should be reported to the League Secretary as soon as possible. The committee will be used to resolve any serious issues that might evolve during the current season. The Committee will consist of Paul Tuvey , Reg Bartlett , Ivor Haverley and 3 other team representatives picked at random.
Paul Tuvey (Chairman / League & Results Secretary)
