The Island of Gibraltar has issued a special set of stamps to commemorate the 30th wedding anniversary
of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
John Winston Lennon, aged 28, son of a retired seaman, Alfred Lennon, married his second wife,
Yoko Ono Cox, aged 36, daughter of a retired banker Eisuke Ono on March 26th at the Island's Registry Office.
The set of stamps features three portraits of John Lennon from the early days of the Beatles. The miniature
sheets feature rare images of the Lennons on the tarmac of Gibraltar Airport. With the Rock as a background
they hold their marriage certificate which is featured in full colour on the back of the presentation packs.
